Meole Brace CE Primary School

"Let your light shine" Matthew 5.16

Our school vision says "Let your light shine" (Matthew 5.16) and the staff and Governors are fully committed in ensuring that all pupils feel happy, safe and well supported in order that they are truly able to let God's light shine through them and reach their full potentials. Everything we do is underpinned by our Christian ethos and core values of Community, Respect and Perseverance, and this includes our broad and balanced curriculum which motivates all pupils and offers opportunities for personalised and contextualised learning. The involvement of parents/carers is of paramount importance in this and we encourage their contribution to the life and work of the school, as it is only by working in partnership that we enable the children to learn, grow and shine.

Situated on the southern outskirts of Shrewsbury, our friendly, welcoming school was built in 1955 as two separate schools, Meole Brace C of E Infant School and Nursery and Meole Brace Junior School, which amalgamated in 2009 to form Meole Brace C of E Primary School and Nursery. Having originally been two schools, we are fortunate to benefit from vast amounts of space, both inside and out, with large playing fields and playgrounds and light, spacious classrooms. We also have two large halls, a stunning, well-stocked library and a recently installed computer suite. Our beautiful Foundation Stage Unit contains a 64 place Nursery and two Reception classes.
